Consultant Edinburgh Green Film Festival

The current climate crisis effects everyone. It’s important that in all creative industries, we take action and make a stand to protect the world that we practice, create and work in. Film has an important part in promoting and bringing attention to the issues within our climate crisis so events like the Glasgow Green Film Festival. I was approached by the Edinburgh Green Film Festival in July of 2021. Having been forced to cancel their first in-person run, they where looking for alternative methods of running their festival and specifically on online platforms. Bening a new festival, running on a tight budget and covering an incredibly important cause, I offered to consult them on a pro bono basis to support the development of their 1st edition on an online platorm.

The main aspect of this was researching options of digital platofrms for them to host their festival and advising what might be best based on their festival and budget. Having connections with INDY Cinema Group, I was able to connect them to the organisation who run their own on demand platorm which they are using for their first edition. Additionally, I consulted them on best practices for receiving submissions, advice on social media management and in running/organising in-person and outside events for the festival.

The festival is set to run it’s first edition from the 21st October 2021 to 31st October 2021 with a selection of features, shorts and additional events. Please go to https://www.edgreenfilmfest.com/ for more information.
