Cinema Manager The Scotsman Picturehouse
The Scotsman Picturehouse opened it’s doors to the public in August 2019 as a new boutique independent cinemas as apart of the Scotsman Group (Formally G1 Group) in Scotland. A hidden gem within The Scotsman Hotel, the cinema would open daily screening current films along side older classics and events with organisations such as the French Film Festival UK and Scottish Documentary Institute. The space also hosted conferences, weddings and events for a number of clients and organisations.
The cinema itself can sit up to 45 people and has equipment for cinema screenings, HDMI projection, Air Play and satellite television. Apart from the back row, which hosts couches fit for two people, each row has an individual couch with side table for refreshments along with ottomans for the front row. The Cinema also includes a small bar & foyer with tables and couches. This is usually used for guests on arrival or could be used for receptions for events. On my return to the venue as Manager, the venue was mainly focused on public screening and private hires.
Being a supervisor before the pandemic, I was asked to return and run the venue as the cinema manager. This involved organising staff training, rotas, stock management, managing the cinemas print traffic, undertaking social media, keeping the venue up to good standards and maintaining high standards of customer service.
